GETTING A LIFE!
Hey everyone. Man a lot has been going on recently and I don't know how much I can seriously type here, but I'll do my best.
Lately, work has been kinda slow, except for a MAJOR development earlier this week. I was browsing for jobs like I typically do and ran across one here at Cincinnati Bell that has some AWESOME potential. I was concerned though because I am going back to school and wasn't sure how this full-time job would affect that. Well I took the plunge and decided I would go to school part-time. I'll be taking some classes in the late afternoon/evening during the week after I get off work (If I get the job). Conveniently, I managed to avoid any conflicts with Band which was a major consideration in my decision to pursue this particular career. It is a management job with the company, and one in which I think I can do particualrly well, and let me tell you...IT PAYS!!!!!!!
I've been helping Dr, Frenz out by working at a Band Camp in Indiana periodically. I'm getting a small stipend from the school for it, and since the school is near broke, I am getting very little for the effort. But ALL IS WELL! The kids are great, and so far, things seem to be going well. I'm helping out there Drum Majors a little bit, and getting paid to do it...not too bad I guess, every little bit of extra cash helps. I am visiting them 3 more times over the next week or so, and they have a great show, so we'll see what happens.
Things in the girl department are still at a stand still. I basically told Christy straight up how I felt, and we laughed and talked for a while. She is still having some trouble over her most recent breakup, which is understandable, and told me she wasn't ready to commit to anything....basically I was shot down in a nice way for now. I'm still being optimistic, but who knows what will happen. I try to keep in touch as often as I can, sometimes that doesn't even seem like all that much. I'm still waiting to she what she will do...I guess the ball is kind of in her court. Or sourse I won't wait forever like in the Credit card commercial for capital one and end up in the lake, but I'm going to have patience in this. Only time will tell.
I've got UC Band stuff coming up with the new Drum Majors here. It should be funa nd a little challenging. I'm trying to work in a few surprises this summer, and I hope I can get them to materialize. We'll just have to wait and see.
It's kind of nice to be in the position I am now. Getting a life and moving on, but still able to keep some of the fun from college through band and classes and my roommates for next year. It's different and exciting all at the same time.
Hanging out with Tom this summer has been fun. We've been around Rob a few times, when he's available, and otherwise things with the social life are good.
I'll keep you all posted as often as I can. Things are busy right now.
Later!
